Product Overview

Schlumbergera sp. Christmas Cactus
A beautiful holiday houseplant with Intersting segmented stems which produce tubular flowers that are red, pink, peach or white at the end of the stems .

The Christmas Cactus is a multi-stemmed holiday houseplant with a spreading habit of growth.

This is a relatively easy care plant that prefers bright light. Keep away from sources of heat and cold drafts. It prefers the soil to be allowed to get slightly dry in between waterings. Give it a rest period in the fall by reducing the water and no fertilizer until flower buds start to emerge, then resume regular waterings

The Christmas Cactus is recommended for the following uses:
  • Accent
  • Container Planting

Features

The Christmas Cactus features brightly colored tubular flowers at the ends of the branches from late fall to early winter. It has attractive green foliage when not in flower.

The Christmas Cactus is best suited for use in pots and containers. With its upright habit of growth, it is best suited for use as a 'thriller' in the 'spiller-thriller-filler' container combination; plant it near the center of the pot, surrounded by smaller plants and those that spill over the edges. Also note that when growing plants in outdoor containers and baskets, they may require more frequent waterings than they would in the yard or garden.
