Maculata Begonia features attractive pointy leaves that are olive green in color with white spots throughout the year. It will produce clustes of white or occasionally red flowers upon reaching maturity. The plant will remain compact for several years but will eventually start to shoot up bamboo like canes that can reach up to 5 feet in height.

Maculata Begonia has bold foliage with shape that resembles angel wings on a compact spreading plant.

Planting & Growing

When grown indoors, Maculata Begonia can be expected to grow up to 5 foot tall at maturity, with a spread about 2 feet. It grows at a slow rate until maturity band then it can grow quite quickly, and under ideal conditions can be expected to live for approximately 10 or more years. This houseplant should only be grown away from direct hot sunlight or in a room with strong artificial light. It does best in average to evenly moist soil, but will not tolerate standing water. The surface of the soil shouldn't be allowed to dry out completely, and so you should expect to water this plant once and possibly even twice each week.
