Product Overview

Clematis x 'Rouge Cardinal'

Velvety burgundy-purple blooms on a woody vine with leathery-textured, green foliage. Its compact size makes it an excellent choice for containers and small spaces. Great for covering a fence, trellis, or arbor. Also works well climbing through tall shrubs, or meandering, unsupported, as a groundcover. Deciduous.

Planting & Growing

Thrives in well-drained, lightly alkaline soil, with roots sheltered and top growth in the sun. Mulch to conserve moisture. Water deeply, regularly in first growing season to establish root system; reduce frequency once established. Feed regularly beginning in spring. Remove spent blooms to promote continuous bloom. Provide trellis or arbor support.
