Allison Smith joined the Pike nursey team in November of 2016 and has been in the horticultural business since 2013. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, taking road trips in her 1971 VW and baking sweets. Her favorite plant groups are perennials and shade gardens, "The delight of seeing perennials reemerge after Winter is a fantastic marker that Spring has sprung! I particularly love tulips & peonies in Spring...my list of favorite summer perennials is endless and always growing. For Shade gardens, I love the variety of texture, color & variegation of shade loving plants - Specific to trees & shrubs: I adore Pink Frost Anise (for the amazing look & scent), Spider Web Fatsia (a variegated tropical look for the shade!), Tea Olives for their fragrance & Camellias for their lush blooms in Winter." Allison's favorite part of her job is also what, she feels, makes her store unique, "PEOPLE…Both our team & our clients! The team at Pike East Cobb made up of amazing individuals, all passionate about what we do: Improving the lives of others. And our clients are wonderful - from the first-time gardeners to our master gardeners, the familiar and friendly faces that enter our store make everything we do worthwhile. I am passionate about people... It is such a great honor to support gardeners with their beautiful projects and equip those new to gardening with the tricks and tools to grow something they love." Allison wants you to know, "Our greatest privilege is supporting and encouraging our clients with their indoor and outdoor projects. Whether it's growing your own vegetable & herb garden, creating a backyard oasis to entertain & enjoy, or transforming your home décor with lush, living houseplants - Our talented team or plant specialists is eager & happy to help! We look forward to seeing you soon!"
