Product Overview

Solanum lycopersicum

Rich in history and filled with flavor, this mix of large, colorful tomatoes provides a bountiful harvest that’s legendary.

Brandywine is a favorite of tomato lovers for more than 100 years. Fruits average around a pound but can weigh close to 2 pounds. 'Yellow Brandywine' turns golden yellow when ripe, with a balance of sweet and tart; and 'Red Brandywine' has a rich, well-balanced tomato flavor. Red seeds are stained with organic coloring to indicate the red tomato, while the yellow tomato seed has no coloring. Provide support for vines that reach 6' or more.

Variety Info

10–30 ounces, often ribbed, flattened round fruits. 'Yellow Brandywine' ripens to golden yellow, and 'Red Brandywine' ripens to pinkish red.

Sowing Inside

RECOMMENDED. 4 to 6 weeks before transplanting. Transplant when air temperature is 45°F or warmer, usually 1 to 2 weeks after your average last frost date. Ideal soil temperature for germination is 70°–90°F.

Sowing Outside

For mild climates only: 1 to 2 weeks after your average last frost date, and when soil temperature is at least 60°F.
