Details

NPK Breakdown:

  • Nitrogen (N) - 4%: Supports lush leaf growth

  • Phosphorus (P) - 3%: Aids in root development and flowering

  • Potassium (K) - 4%: Enhances overall plant health and stress resistance

For Use On:

Azaleas, Rhododendrons, and evergreen trees and shrubs.

When to Use:

Feed in the spring and late fall at half the spring rate. Azaleas and rhododendrons are best fed in the spring at the first hint of bloom color. Never apply fertilizer to frozen soils.

How Much to Use:

  • Trees: 1 lb. per inch of trunk diameter; triple the quantity for diameters 3 inches or larger.

  • Shrubs: 1 cup per foot of branch spread; double the quantity if branch spread is three feet or larger.

  • Beds:

    • Preparation of New Bed: Mix 10 lbs. per 100 square feet and incorporate into the top 4 to 5 inches of soil.

    • Established Beds: Use 5 lbs. per 100 square feet.

How to Apply:

  • For Shrubs: Sprinkle the recommended amount around the drip line and water thoroughly. If the area is mulched, either temporarily remove the mulch to feed or double the rate on top of the mulch.

  • For Trees:

    1. Dig 3-inch wide holes around the drip line that are 12-18 inches deep and 2-3 feet apart.

    2. Divide the Azalea-tone evenly and pour it into the holes.

    3. Backfill the holes with soil and water thoroughly.
